International Textile and Apparel Expo 2025 begins in Dhaka

The Dhaka International Textile and Apparel Expo-2025 (DTA Expo-2025) officially began on Thursday (October 9, 2025) at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Center (BCFCC) in Agargaon, the capital. The event is organized by ECOEXPO.

Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) President Mohammad Hatem was present as the chief guest of the event. He inaugurated the expo and extended his greetings to the organizers.

In his inaugural speech, Mohammad Hatem said that DTA Expo-2025 is an important platform for the country’s textile and apparel sector, where fibers, yarns, fabrics, trims, accessories and dyestuffs are being displayed. He mentioned that it is creating an opportunity for Bangladeshi garment entrepreneurs to directly communicate with international suppliers and buyers.

He further said, “We need to be vigilant about the unethical business practices of some foreign buying houses. It is the need of the hour for local manufacturers to be aware and vigilant.”

The chief guest appreciated the recent business-friendly steps taken by the National Board of Revenue (NBR) and expressed hope that this positive trend will continue in the future.

Top leaders of various industry associations including MBABD, BGEA, BGBA, and EBFCI were present at the inaugural ceremony.
