Interim government considers students’ demands in Milestone crash as reasonable

The interim government has recognized all six demands of students in the plane crash at Milestone School and College in Uttara, the capital, as reasonable. Today, Tuesday (July 22, 2025), Education Advisor to the Interim Government CR Abrar, Legal Advisor Asif Nazrul and Press Secretary to the Chief Advisor Shafiqul Alam, who arrived at the scene at noon, spoke directly with the protesting students.

Speaking to reporters after the discussion, Legal Advisor Asif Nazrul said, “A data center has been established at Milestone School. Information on the dead, injured and missing persons is being stored and updated regularly. Compensation, rehabilitation and mental health support (trauma management) will be provided to the families of the dead and injured.”

He said that the government has expressed regret over the allegations of beating up students by some army personnel while carrying out their duties while controlling the crowd of people and that the army authorities will be informed to take appropriate action.

He also said that necessary instructions will be given to the Air Force not to operate training aircraft in populated areas in future.

Education Advisor CR Abrar said, “The date of the HSC examination will be rescheduled and announced after the end of the regular examination instead of July 24.”
