Home Ministry Senior Secretary Mr. Nasimul Gani inaugurated the newly built Modern Fire Service and Civil Defense Station at Shibu Market in Narayanganj. He inaugurated the fire station as the chief guest on Saturday (January 10) at 11 am.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Brigadier General Muhammad Zahed Kamal, ndc, AFWC, psc, directors of the department, Narayanganj Deputy Commissioner, Superintendent of Police, Deputy Director of Ansar and officials of various levels of the Home Ministry and Fire Service. In addition, media personnel, local volunteers and people from different classes and professions participated in the ceremony.

When the Senior Secretary reached the fire station premises at 11 am, the Director General welcomed him. At this time, a group of smart fire fighters led by Warehouse Inspector Md. Zahirul Islam presented a guard of honor to the chief guest. Later, he unveiled the inauguration plaque and prayers were held for the welfare of the country and the nation. As part of the inauguration, the chief guest also planted an amrapali tree in the station premises.
At the beginning of the discussion meeting, the Deputy Commissioner of Narayanganj gave a welcome speech and highlighted the commendable role of the fire service in various disasters and accidents. Later, the Director General in his speech mentioned the ongoing challenges of the fire service and sought the cooperation of the district administration, police administration and local people.
In his speech, the chief guest recalled his training in the fire service as a teenager and introduced himself as a volunteer at that time. Expressing satisfaction at the inauguration of the fire station, he thanked everyone concerned. He emphasized on increasing the number of volunteers to deal with future risks, especially earthquakes. At the same time, he called for further strengthening the media wing of the fire service to strengthen campaign activities to increase public awareness.
After the ceremony, the chief guest inspected various facilities including the fire station’s barracks building, vehicles and pumps, signed the inspection book and attended lunch.
