Home Affairs Advisor visits Magura rape victim at CMH

Home Affairs Advisor Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.) visited the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka Cantonment on Sunday (March 9, 2025) morning to visit the child who was raped in Magura.

The advisor inquired about the child’s treatment and directed the hospital authorities to ensure the highest medical care. Senior officials of the Combined Military Hospital were present at the time.

Earlier, on the day of the incident (March 6), after learning about the matter at noon, the advisor called the child’s mother and inquired about the child and assured the government of ensuring the highest medical care.

Yesterday, the child was brought from Dhaka Medical College Hospital to Dhaka Combined Military Hospital for advanced medical care.

Regarding the incident, the Home Affairs Advisor said, a case has been filed against four people at Magura Sadar Police Station in the rape and attempted murder case of an eight-year-old child in Magura, and the police have arrested four accused in the case. He said, the Home Ministry is vocal about the fact that the culprits should not be spared in any way.

The Advisor said, I have instructed the law enforcement agencies to take a strict stance against harassment and rape of women. I have instructed them to quickly complete the investigation and submit a report to the court after listing all the violence against women so far. He said, the criminals involved in the recent rape incidents will be tried and brought to justice. He also said, women will perform their duties at home and abroad without fear and without hindrance. Those who come to obstruct them or commit violence will be brought under the law. There will be no concessions in this regard.

Lieutenant General Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (Retd.) said, “Everyone must be aware and vocal against violence against women. Family, social and moral values ​​must be nurtured.”
