Government working to make administration people-friendly: State Minister for Information and Broadcasting

Desk Report:

State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Yaser Khan Chowdhury said that it is possible to ensure fast, transparent and quality government services at the doorsteps of the people by building a modern and up-to-date administrative infrastructure. The government is continuously working to increase administrative capacity at the upazila level and improve the quality of public services.

The State Minister said these things on Sunday (July 5, 2026) while inaugurating the newly constructed expanded administrative building and hall room of the Phulbaria Upazila Parishad in Mymensingh.

When the State Minister reached Phulbaria Upazila, he was welcomed with floral greetings by the grassroots leaders and activists of the Upazila BNP.

Later, after the formal inauguration of the expanded administrative building and hall room of the Upazila Parishad, the State Minister planted a few saplings in the premises of the administrative building as part of the 250 million tree plantation program announced by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman in five years.

The State Minister said that there is no alternative to tree plantation to maintain environmental balance and build a green Bangladesh for the next generation. He urged everyone to get involved in this program.

Among others, reserved women’s seat MP Nilofar Chowdhury Moni, local MP Kamrul Hasan Milon and Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Shahidul Islam Sohag were present at the inaugural ceremony.

According to the Upazila Local Government Engineering Department (LGED), the work on the expanded administrative building and hall of the Upazila Parishad, built at a cost of 86 million 82 thousand 886 taka, began on January 22, 2024. The construction work was implemented by a contractor named MSE-MRE (JV) and completed on April 30 this year.

On the same morning, the State Minister for Information and Broadcasting distributed tree saplings among various individuals and organizations in Nandail under the 250 million tree plantation program promised by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman in five years.

Earlier, he visited the grave of the late Ashraf Ali, a member of Nandail Upazila BNP and joint convener of Nandail Union No. 3 BNP. After the grave visit, the State Minister met the family members of the deceased, expressed deep grief and condolences to them, and prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased’s soul.
