Gazipur District Police Honors retired police freedom fighters on the occasion of Victory Day-2025

On the occasion of Great Victory Day 2025, a reception program was organized in honor of retired police freedom fighters at the Drill Shed of Gazipur Police Lines. Md. Israil Howlader, Commissioner of Gazipur Metropolitan Police (GMP), attended the event and presented floral greetings and gift items to the family members of retired police freedom fighters. He was accompanied by Md. Sharif Uddin, Superintendent of Police, Gazipur.

At the beginning of his speech at the meeting, Superintendent of Police Md. Sharif Uddin paid deep respect to the brave freedom fighters, the best sons of the nation, and prayed for the forgiveness of their souls.

He said that Bangladesh achieved independence through the bloody liberation war on December 16, 1971. Many policemen actively participated in this war—many were martyred, many were injured, and many were awarded titles for their heroic contributions.

Also present at the event were Md. Abu Khair, Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance); Khandaker Ashfaquzzaman, BPM, Additional Superintendent of Police (Crime and Ops); Mohammad Mozammel Hossain, Additional Superintendent of Police (DSB); Aminul Islam, Additional Superintendent of Police (DB); Mahbubur Rahman, Additional Superintendent of Police (Traffic), retired police freedom fighters of Gazipur district, family members of martyred police freedom fighters, and members of various ranks of the district police.
