Foreign Investors’ Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) Announces New Leadership for 2026–2027

The Foreign Investors’ Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FICCI) has announced its new leadership for the 2026–2027 term at the chamber’s 62nd Annual General Meeting (AGM), held on December 7, 2025, at Le Méridien Dhaka. Rupali Haque Chowdhury, Managing Director of Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited, has been elected President of FICCI. Joining her are Deepal Abeywickrema, Chairman and Managing Director of Nestlé Bangladesh PLC, as Senior Vice President, and Mohammad Iqbal Chowdhury, CEO of LafargeHolcim Bangladesh PLC, as Vice President.

The newly elected 15-member Board of Directors was also introduced at the AGM. The board includes Jahangir Saadat, President of KEPZ; M. H. M. Fairoz, Managing Director & CEO of Singer Bangladesh Ltd.; Rubaba Dowla, Country Managing Director of Oracle Bangladesh; Sumitava Basu, Country Head of Marico Bangladesh Ltd.; Moinul Huq, Citi Country Officer of Citibank N.A.; A. A. M. M. Shams Zaman, Managing Partner of PwC Bangladesh Private Ltd.; Hiroshi Uegaki, Country Manager of Mitsubishi Corporation; Ziad Shatara, Managing Director & CEO of Robi Axiata PLC; Shadab Ahmed Khan, Managing Director of Coca-Cola Bangladesh Beverages Ltd.; Hedayet Ullah, Managing Director of Syngenta Bangladesh Ltd.; Habibur Rahman Bhuiyan, Country Manager of Excelerate Energy Bangladesh Limited; and Manas Singh, CEO of STS Capital Ltd. The new Board will formally assume office on January 1, 2026.

In her remarks, newly elected President Rupali Haque Chowdhury expressed deep gratitude to the FICCI members for their trust and reiterated her commitment to strengthening the foreign investment landscape and contributing to Bangladesh’s economic progress. Outgoing President Zaved Akhtar thanked the Board and chamber members for their support during his tenure and extended his best wishes to the new leadership.

The event recognized several esteemed patrons for their support. MasterCard Singapore Holding PTE Ltd. served as the Platinum Patron, while Haleon Bangladesh Ltd., JT International Bangladesh Ltd., and Philip Morris Bangladesh Ltd. were honored as Diamond Patrons. Gold Patrons included Syngenta Bangladesh Ltd., Excelerate Energy Bangladesh Ltd., Coca-Cola Bangladesh Beverages Ltd., and United Aygaz LPG Ltd. Marico Bangladesh Limited, Petromax LPG Limited, Robi Axiata Limited, and Chevron Bangladesh participated as Silver Patrons.

Members of both outgoing and newly elected boards, along with representatives from various FICCI member companies, attended the AGM, marking the beginning of a new chapter focused on driving investment, innovation, and collaboration in Bangladesh’s economic landscape.
