Diplomatic Desk:
A meeting of five European ambassadors and senior diplomats posted in Dhaka was held with Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Advisor Humayun Kabir.
The meeting, held at the Prime Minister’s Office in Tejgaon on Thursday (July 16, 2026) afternoon, was attended by French Ambassador to Dhaka Jean-Marc Serre-Charle, Spanish Ambassador Gabriel Sistiaga, UK High Commissioner Sarah Cook, European Union Charge d’Affaires (CDA) Baiba Zarina and German Charge d’Affaires (CDA) Anja Kirsten.

Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) Executive Chairman Ashiq Chowdhury was present at the meeting.
The meeting brought together fruitful discussions on the long-standing friendly relations, growing economic partnership and various issues of mutual interest between Bangladesh and its European partners.

The discussions focused on expanding trade and investment, deepening and multi-dimensional cooperation in defense, civil aviation, and other sectors of mutual interest.
The Prime Minister’s Foreign Affairs Advisor expressed hope to further strengthen the existing relations with European countries based on mutual trust and common interests.
The European diplomats reiterated their interest in further expanding their respective countries’ multi-dimensional partnerships with Bangladesh.
