In accordance with the agenda, the meeting began with an introductory session involving the Chairman, committee members, and relevant officials. Representatives from the Ministry of Land briefed the committee on the manpower, profiles, and functions of the departments and agencies under the ministry, as well as the ministry’s significant achievements and future plans.

The committee decided to take necessary measures and steps to transfer the Department of Registration—currently under the Ministry of Law—to the Ministry of Land.

It was noted during the meeting that several projects are currently underway under the Ministry of Land, including: the Land Management Automation Project; the Mouza and Plot-based National Digital Land Zoning Project; the project to enhance the digital survey capacity of the Department of Land Records and Surveys; the project to renovate and repair record rooms in Deputy Commissioners’ offices; the project to establish a digitized land management system through digital land surveys; the project to construct urban and union land offices across the country; and the project to construct integrated Upazila land complexes. The committee recommended prioritizing government revenue collection and the enhancement of public convenience when undertaking any project.

Additionally, the committee decided to visit the ‘Land Bhaban’ (Land Ministry headquarters) to observe the ministry’s operations firsthand.

The Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Land, heads of departments and agencies under the ministry, other relevant senior officials, and officials from the National Parliament Secretariat were present at the meeting.
