Family members of a Bangladeshi expatriate who died in Saudi Arabia met with the State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ms. Shama Obaid Islam, MP, at her office on Monday (October 19, 2026). The deceased, a Bangladeshi expatriate, was named Nurul Haque.
The family members expressed their gratitude to the State Minister for Foreign Affairs and the Ministry for their assistance in securing compensation from Saudi Arabia. During the meeting, the State Minister inquired about their well-being and overall situation, including their safety.
It is worth noting that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs provided support to the family of the Bangladeshi expatriate—who died in Saudi Arabia in 2023—in obtaining compensation. Following these efforts, the family received the compensation payment last week.
