Industrialist Md. Faisal Taher has been elected president of the capital’s Uttara Club Limited. He was elected with 805 votes. His nearest rival Ghaus U Khan received 581 votes. Faisal Taher will serve in this position for 2024-2025.
The election was held on Wednesday (December 25) amid great enthusiasm, and the results of the vote were announced at night.
Voting was held from morning to 7:30 pm under the direction of Uttara Club Chief Election Commissioner Captain Mahbubul Matin.

10 directors were also elected in the club’s election. They are – Captain Faryal Bilkis Ahmed, Hasan Ibne Gias Sadi, Mosharraf Hossain, Salman Mahmud, Md. Golam Mawla, A. M. Mahmudur Rahman, Ataul Kabir Khan, ABM Monowar Islam Bhuiyan, Dr. Md. Nannu Mia and Md. Taimur Azad.
Located in Sector 1 of Uttara Model Town, the club is a leading social club in the capital. The club’s approximately 2,400 members include academics, intellectuals, businessmen, social workers, journalists and politicians.
