With a focus on innovation and women’s empowerment, the third batch of ‘Shaktikonna 2025’ was held, where the promise of shaping future women leaders in the sustainable energy sector came to the fore. The program, supported by the European Union (EU), welcomed more effective, practical and business-oriented solutions this year. From smart energy skills to community-driven sustainable models, the creativity and leadership of young women entrepreneurs were recognized.
The European Union reiterated its commitment to providing Bangladesh with integrated support on skills development, trade, investment, inclusion and sustainable development.

Participants, stakeholders and prominent figures from the sustainable energy sector celebrated the journey of Shaktikonna. The highlight of the day was the Solve-A-Thon, where participants presented innovative pitch ideas to address real-world energy challenges. Their creativity, problem-solving skills and commitment to climate-smart solutions impressed the judges. The afternoon awards ceremony honored the best performers as well as the winning teams of the Solve-a-Thon.

The event was graced by the presence of Michael Miller, Ambassador and Head of Delegation of the European Union to Bangladesh, and Dr. Rüdiger Lotz, Ambassador of the German Embassy in Dhaka. Their presence is seen as a reflection of the global commitment to women’s leadership.

So far, more than 100 women have gained skills in engineering and sustainable technology through the Shaktikanya program. Their participation in renewable energy, clean technology and environment-related professions is playing a significant role in building an inclusive, sustainable and future-oriented energy workforce in the country.
