Egyptian National Day 2025 Celebrated in Dhaka with Warm Diplomatic Gathering

The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Bangladesh hosted a grand celebration of Egyptian National Day 2025 on Monday (14 July) at a prestigious hotel in Dhaka.

The Chief Guest of the event was Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Adviser to the Interim Government of Bangladesh on Water Resources, Environment, Forest, and Climate Change.

In her speech, she said, I am deeply honored to attend this special occasion. On behalf of the Government and people of Bangladesh, I extend heartfelt greetings and congratulations to the Government of Egypt. The relations between our two countries are historic and cordial. From the ready-made garment and agriculture sectors to tourism, cotton imports, and investment, we have enjoyed meaningful cooperation over the years. The people of Bangladesh grow up hearing the glorious stories of Egypt’s rich heritage and Islamic civilization. I hope that our bilateral and economic relations will continue to grow stronger in the future.

The Egyptian Ambassador to Bangladesh, Mr. Omar Fahmy, thanked the distinguished guests and expressed Egypt’s commitment to further deepening its ties with Bangladesh.

He stated, Egypt and Bangladesh share a good relationship based on culture, trade, and Islamic bonds. Many Egyptian students are currently studying at universities in Bangladesh. Egypt reiterates its full support for Bangladesh’s ongoing reform initiatives and expresses keen interest in enhancing bilateral trade and cooperation.

Also present was the Chief Justice of Bangladesh, Syed Rifat Ahmed, who noted, I stand before you amidst the times of unprecedented judicial transformation. Our position has been clear — to reclaim trust, enhance access to justice, and operate as a fully functional constitutional organ of the state.

The event brought together diplomats, government officials, business leaders, academics, cultural figures, and media representatives to honor the deep-rooted friendship between Egypt and Bangladesh.
