On the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, an Iftar and Doa Mahfil was organized by Dhaka-11 constituency. State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque was present as the chief guest.

Member of Parliament SM Jahangir Hossain and Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Administrator Md. Shafiqul Islam Khan Milton were present as special guests at the event. The event was presided over by former founding president of Dhaka Metropolitan North BNP and Microfinance Affairs Secretary of the party’s Central Executive Committee Dr. M A Quayum.
Speaking as the chief guest, State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque said that the government wants to run the country with the people by following a zero tolerance policy against corruption and injustice to protect the country’s development and democracy.

He said that for the past 17 years, the people of the country have been victims of various types of oppression, torture and injustice under dictatorial rule. Throughout this long period, the common people and political leaders and activists have continued their struggle amidst various obstacles and oppression.
Aminul Haque said that on August 5, 2024, the people of the country unitedly put an end to the dictatorial rule. Keeping the support and expectations of the people in mind, the BNP formed the government.
He also said that since the formation of the government, Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has been working as a representative of the common people and is taking various initiatives for the welfare of the people of the country. At the same time, he called on the party leaders and activists to work as representatives of the people.
Addressing the BNP leaders and activists, he said that the main goal of politics should be to ensure the welfare of the people and fulfill the expectations of the people. He alleged that for the last one and a half years, a group has been telling various lies about the BNP. The leaders and activists must take the responsibility of delivering the answers to these lies to the people.
In his speech as the president, Dr. MA Qayyum said that it is often discussed by the people of the country and on various talk shows that the victory of BNP was snatched through election engineering in the Dhaka-11 constituency elections. He said, that victory will be brought back by fighting through the law, InshaAllah.
Dr. Qayyum also said that everyone should follow the instructions given by the acting chairman of the party, Tarique Rahman, for the sake of running the state and the party. He warned the leaders and activists that they should not be involved in any activities that tarnish the party’s image. If anyone is involved in terrorism, drugs or extortion, party and legal action will be taken against him.
He said that work will be done to implement the promise of giving the people of Dhaka-11 a drug, terrorism and extortion-free society.
Speaking as a special guest, DNCC Administrator Md. Shafiqul Islam Khan Milton said, Dr. MA Qayyum has been associated with mainstream politics for a long time and many leaders and activists have become active in politics under his leadership. He said that the party evaluates those who make sacrifices in politics one day or another.
He also said that the development of the country is not possible for any single person or institution. Development must be taken forward with everyone. Real development is not possible without the participation of the people.
More than 8,000 political leaders, local dignitaries, social workers and activists were present at the event. Before the iftar, special prayers and supplications were offered, seeking peace, progress and welfare of the country, nation and Muslim Ummah.
