Dr. Khaled El-Enany elected as Director-General of UNESCO, Egyptian Embassy in Dhaka congratulates

The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Bangladesh extends its heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Khaled El-Enany on his election as the new Director-General of UNESCO.

Dr. El-Enany previously served as Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities and has been a long-time supporter of cultural cooperation and the preservation of world heritage, the embassy said. His election is a proud moment not only for Egypt but also for all nations that believe in multilateralism, cultural dialogue and UNESCO’s humanitarian mission.

Dr. El-Enany visited Bangladesh in April this year. During his visit, he was impressed by the warm hospitality of Bangladesh and expressed deep respect for the country’s rich cultural heritage while visiting the historic Panam Nagar in Sonargaon. His visit further strengthened the cultural relations between Bangladesh and Egypt.

The Embassy expresses its deep gratitude to the government and people of Bangladesh for their valuable support for Dr. El-Enany’s candidacy. This support is a reflection of the historical friendship and mutual trust between the two countries.

The Egyptian Embassy in Dhaka hopes that through Egypt’s fulfillment of this important responsibility under the leadership of UNESCO, cooperation between Bangladesh and Egypt in the preservation of heritage, promotion of education and human values will be further strengthened.
