DMP security coordination meeting held on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha-2025

On the occasion of the upcoming Eid-ul-Adha-2025, a coordination meeting was held to ensure a safe and smooth Eid journey, security at buses, launches, railway stations, payment of salaries and allowances and movement of garment workers, security at various banks and financial institutions, security during Eid congregation and post-Eid, as well as overall law and order and traffic management.

The coordination meeting was held on Monday (May 26, 2025) morning at the conference room of DMP Headquarters. The meeting was presided over by Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat ​​Ali, ndc.

In his speech as the chairman, the DMP Commissioner said that the holy Eid-ul-Fitr was completed very well with the combined efforts of everyone. Compared to any previous year, the people of Dhaka were able to go to their villages and return comfortably, which was appreciated by all. We hope that this time too we will be able to provide a smooth and safe Eid journey to the esteemed city dwellers.

The Commissioner said that everyone should play their role in preventing accidents. Drivers should be given necessary briefings so that they do not drive at excessive speed. Everyone should take care that the joy of Eid does not become a cause of unhappiness for anyone. He requested all government agencies to coordinate and fulfill their responsibilities to make the Eid journey safe and smooth.

Additional Police Commissioner (Traffic) Md. Sarwar BPM-Service said in the meeting that to ensure the safety of passengers, mobile courts will be run against unfit vehicles and at motor vehicle repair factories in Dhaka. He requested not to drive unfit vehicles during the Eid journey.

Additional Commissioner (Crime and Operations) S. N. Md. Nazrul Islam said in the coordination meeting that DMP patrols will be strengthened to prevent ignorant parties, malam parties, and robbers. He urged to take police assistance in carrying large amounts of money on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. In addition, he requested the concerned not to allow passengers to board and disembark without counters for long-distance journeys.

Representatives of various intelligence agencies, representatives of various specialized units of the police, Department of Shipping, Bangladesh Road Transport Owners Association, Bangladesh Road Transport Federation, Bangladesh Truck-Covered Van Owners Association, Bangladesh Truck Drivers and Workers Federation, Bangladesh Bus-Truck Owners Association, Launch Workers Association, BKMEA, BGMEA, GMP, BIWTA, Department of Roads and Highways, Dhaka South City Corporation, Dhaka North City Corporation, Fire Service and Civil Defense, Bus Owners Association, Launch Owners Association, Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Organization and representatives of various government and private service providers were present at the coordination meeting.

At the beginning of the coordination meeting, DMP Joint Police Commissioner (Operations) Mohammad Shahidullah, PPM presented the overall security plan through a power point presentation. Then, representatives of various organizations present in the meeting participated in an open discussion and expressed their valuable opinions.

Nazrul Islam, PPM-Services; Additional Police Commissioner (Logistics, Finance and Procurement) Hasan Md. Shawkat Ali; Additional Police Commissioner (CTTC) Md. Masud Karim; Joint Police Commissioners, Deputy Police Commissioners, police officers of various ranks and representatives of various related organizations were present in the coordination meeting.
