Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has issued a public notice imposing a ban on all types of gatherings and protest programs in and around key judicial establishments in the capital from Monday, July 14, 2025, until further notice.

The directive, signed by the DMP Commissioner, has been issued under the authority granted by Section 29 of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Ordinance, 1976 (Ordinance No. III/76), in the interest of maintaining public order.
According to the notification, all forms of public assembly — including rallies, demonstrations, human chains, sit-in protests, processions, and other gatherings — have been prohibited in the following areas:
- The official residence of the Honorable Chief Justice
- Judges’ Complex
- Jajess Complex
- Main Gate of the Bangladesh Supreme Court
- Mazar Gate
- Jame Masjid Gate
- Entry gates of the International Crimes Tribunal 1 and 2
- The front area of the Judicial Administration Training Institute building
The DMP has also reiterated its request to all concerned to refrain from blocking roads under the pretext of protests or demands, which disrupt the flow of traffic and cause public suffering.
