Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Sheikh Md. Sajjat Ali NDC inspected the overall security arrangements of puja mandap on the occasion of Sharad Durga Puja in the capital’s Banani and Bashundhara residential areas.
Wishing all followers of traditional religion a happy Sharad, he said, “Puja celebrations are going on in a festive atmosphere at a total of 254 puja mandap in Dhaka city. So far, no untoward incident has been reported anywhere. There is no security risk in this year’s puja. However, if anyone tries to disrupt security, the police will take legal action.”
Additional Police Commissioner (Crime and Operations) S. N. Md. Nazrul Islam, PPM and senior DMP officials were present during the inspection.
