A discussion meeting, prayer mahfil and clothes distribution program were held on the occasion of the 45th martyrdom anniversary of the founder of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), the proclaimer of great independence, the advocate of multi-party democracy and former President Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Bir Uttam.
BNP’s Dhaka division organizing secretary Kazi Sayedul Alam Babul was present as the chief guest at the program organized at 10 am on Saturday (May 30). The program was presided over by the central BNP’s joint labor affairs secretary and general secretary of the Bangladesh Road Transport Workers Federation Md. Humayun Kabir Khan. Gazipur-1 constituency member of parliament and mayor Md. Mojibur Rahman were present as the guests of honor.
After the discussion meeting, a special prayer meeting was held to pray for the eternal peace of the departed soul of President Ziaur Rahman. Later, clothes were distributed among the helpless and distressed people.
The program was attended by leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliated organizations, labor leaders, local dignitaries and a large number of common people.
