On the occasion of World Diabetes Day, the Danish Embassy in Bangladesh, in collaboration with Novo Nordisk, highlighted the importance of creating a supportive workplace environment by understanding the needs of colleagues with diabetes. A culture must be created in the workplace where no one feels shy about talking about their health, said Anders B. Carlsen, Chargé d’Affaires of the Danish Embassy. He added that with the right support and understanding, both diabetic and non-diabetic employees can contribute equally.

Novo Nordisk—a global healthcare company from Denmark—has been supporting diabetics in Bangladesh for decades. The company is playing a key role in increasing quality insulin supply, awareness programs and treatment facilities for people of all ages, from children to the young.

The Danish government said it is committed to increasing cooperation in three areas of healthcare development in Bangladesh—treatment, awareness, and ensuring access to affordable care.
