Consensus building is very important in national interest – Environment Advisor Syeda Rizwana Hasan

Consensus building is very important in national interest, said Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Advisor to the Ministry of Environment, Forests, Climate Change and Water Resources. She said, political and policy consensus is necessary to gain the trust of the people. Everyone will have to work together to implement the necessary reforms for the welfare of the people.

She said these things while talking to journalists after paying tribute to the martyrs of the Liberation War at the National Memorial in Savar on Wednesday, March 26, Independence Day.

Syeda Rizwana Hasan said, it is important to rise above party and personal interests in the national interest and reach a consensus. Although there are different views, the process of reducing differences and coming together in the national interest continues. She said, the development of a fair justice system will play an important role in increasing the trust of the people.

She said, work is being done to organize a free and fair election to meet the expectations of the people. Besides, a fair trial of the killings that took place in July-August is now a big challenge for us. We will try to ensure that the people get some sense of justice through this trial and an atmosphere of trust is created.

The advisor expressed hope that everyone would prioritize national interests and reforms would be taken forward based on the needs of the people. He said that with time, all parties would come together and build the necessary consensus for the progress of the country. He called on all concerned to work together to move this process forward.
