Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Afroza Khanam (Rita), MP, said, “We have come to cooperate with you. We want to transform Biman Bangladesh Airlines into a profitable and passenger-friendly organization with the joint efforts of all.”

She said these things while speaking as the chief guest at a view-exchange meeting with Biman Bangladesh Airlines officials and employees in Balaka, Kurmitola on Monday (March 30, 2026). State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism M Rashiduzzaman Millat was present as a special guest at the event.
The minister told the officials and employees, “Your salaries come from the money of ordinary passengers. Therefore, it is your moral responsibility to show due respect to them.” She also mentioned taking measures for promotion through performance monitoring of employees. He also expressed hope that vacancies will be filled quickly and salaries and allowances will be increased to a satisfactory level.
In his speech, the State Minister said, “The current government is people-friendly and democratic. Therefore, we want to make Biman an institution to follow.”
The meeting discussed in detail the short and long-term action plans for the overall development of Biman Bangladesh Airlines. Notable among these were the rapid addition of new aircraft, increasing the number of wheelchairs for senior and special needs passengers, and strengthening the connection of domestic flights with international flights.
After the meeting, the Minister and the State Minister visited the Biman Flight Catering Center (BFCC) and inspected the cleanliness standards there.
