Chinese Prime Minister expresses condolences over the death of Khaleda Zia

Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang has expressed deep shock and condolences over the death of former Bangladesh Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

He expressed his condolences in a condolence message sent to Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus on Tuesday (December 30). The Chinese Embassy in Dhaka has informed this information.

In the condolence message, Li Keqiang said that Begum Khaleda Zia was a veteran politician of Bangladesh and an old friend of the Chinese people. During her prime ministership, a comprehensive cooperative partnership based on long-term friendship, equality and mutual benefit was established between China and Bangladesh, which has contributed to the significant progress of bilateral relations.

Mentioning Begum Khaleda Zia’s important contribution to the development of China-Bangladesh relations, the Chinese Premier said that the Chinese side highly values ​​her role in strengthening these relations.
