China Seeks to Build Foundation for ‘Golden Fifty Years’ of Relations with Bangladesh: Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen

Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen remarked that the friendship between China and Bangladesh is long-standing and continues to strengthen over time. He also expressed a firm resolve to build a shared future for China and Bangladesh in the new era and to lay a solid foundation for the next “Golden Fifty Years” of bilateral relations.

Ambassador Yao Wen made these remarks on Monday (September 21, 2026) while attending a reception marking China’s 77th National Day, organized by the Bangladesh-China Culture, Economy, and Mass Communication Center (BCCEMCC). Held at the capital’s Gulshan Club, the event was attended by Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan; Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Fakir Mahbub Anam; Members of Parliament Altaf Hossain Chowdhury and Nilufar Chowdhury Moni; and approximately 200 distinguished guests from various walks of life.

Ambassador Yao Wen stated that the friendship between China and Bangladesh is deep-rooted and has grown stronger with time. He expressed his gratitude for the strong support and widespread participation of people from all sectors of Bangladeshi society in the friendly cooperation between the two nations.

He added that China is ready to share its modernization experiences more effectively with Bangladesh. China aims to work towards jointly building a community with a shared future for China and Bangladesh in the new era, while also establishing a robust foundation for the next “Golden Fifty Years” of the bilateral relationship.

At the event, Minister of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan extended sincere congratulations to the government and people of China on the occasion of their National Day. He praised China’s remarkable achievements in modernization.

Recalling the early successes of China’s space program, the Minister noted that the broadcasting of the song “The East Is Red” from China’s first satellite had inspired nations and peoples across Asia and the Third World to move forward.

Dr. Moin Khan expressed hope that relations between Bangladesh and China would advance further and yield new benefits for the greater welfare of the people of both nations.

The event featured discussions on the long-standing friendly ties, mutual cooperation, and future prospects between China and Bangladesh, marking China’s National Day.
