Chatgaiya Food Festival inaugurated at InterContinental Dhaka

The ‘Chatgaiya Food Festival’, a joint initiative of InterContinental Dhaka and BRAC Bank PLC, has kicked off. The special festival, which focuses on the rich flavors and culture of Chittagong, was inaugurated at InterContinental Dhaka on Wednesday (August 13, 2025).

The inauguration ceremony was attended by David O’Hanlon, General Manager of InterContinental Dhaka, Professor Dr. M. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury, International Director of Lions Clubs International Nazmul Haque, Food and Beverage Director of InterContinental Dhaka Olivier Loro, Sales and Marketing Director Rezwan Maruf, Executive Chef Julian Sittle Botlero, Marketing Director Sadman Salahuddin, Head of Alliances of BRAC Bank PLC Md. Ashraful Alam and Managing Director and CEO of Probasir Helicopters Bijeed Al Hasan. Also present were members of the hotel team, including partner organizations, media representatives.

From August 14 to 23, guests can enjoy the taste of authentic Chatgaiya cuisine at the hotel’s Elements Restaurant. The menu includes – Akhani Biryani, Beef Kalabhuna, Beef with Chana Dal, Mejbani Beef, Paya, Rupchanda Fry, Laitta Fry, Golda Shrimp Masala, Durus Kura, Lau Shak with Salted Hilsa, Khaisha, Shutki and various types of Bhorta. Desserts will include popular local desserts including Pitha, Semai, Halwa, Payesh.

There will be live cultural performances by local artists every evening. Visitors will also be able to participate in an exciting raffle draw and enjoy the opportunity of a helicopter joyride courtesy of the expatriate helicopter.
