Gildan, Canada’s largest investor in Bangladesh, continues to play a significant role in boosting the local economy and employment. Since 2010, Gildan has set up three factories and a distribution center in Bangladesh, where more than 9,000 Bangladeshis are currently employed. Gildan’s office in Dhaka is now an important part of its global network, which also includes Canada.

During a recent visit to Bangladesh, Canadian Assistant Deputy Minister (ADM) Weldon Epp visited Gildan’s various investment projects. During the visit, he was briefed on Gildan’s ongoing activities and discussed how Canada can increase its investment in Bangladesh and create quality job opportunities between the two countries.

As part of Canada’s trade strategy in the Indo-Pacific region, mutual cooperation and social development are expected to be further strengthened through companies like Gildan.
