Business In Bangladesh Editor Participates in European Union (EU) ‘Europe Day 2026’ Event at the invitation of European Union

Business In Bangladesh Editor Engr. Mohammad Shajibul-Al-Rajib participated in the diplomatic reception held on the occasion of ‘Europe Day 2026’ at the invitation of European Union Ambassador to Bangladesh Michael Miller and his wife. The reception held in the capital on Wednesday (May 6, 2026) was organized by the European Union (EU) delegation to Bangladesh.

Present at the event, he expressed his sincere gratitude to European Union Ambassador to Bangladesh Michael Miller and his wife. Thanking the European Union for the invitation, he said that such an event plays an important role in further strengthening mutual relations between Bangladesh and European countries.

Bangladesh Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury was present as the chief guest at the event. In his speech, he emphasized the need to further strengthen Bangladesh’s multi-dimensional relationship with the European Union.

The Finance Minister praised the European Union’s support for Bangladesh’s democratic transition and said that the deployment of a large EU election observation team to observe the 30th National Assembly elections in Bangladesh was very significant. He also mentioned that the new government led by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman is keen to further expand the existing partnership with the EU based on mutual interests and shared responsibilities.

In his speech, the European Union Ambassador to Bangladesh, Michael Miller, said that the EU member states have created a “European Village” in Dhaka by combining their cultures, innovations and traditions, which is a reflection of the EU’s “Unity in Diversity”.

He said that as part of Bangladesh’s preparations for LDC transition, the European Union will organize the first Bangladesh-EU Business Forum later this year to ensure a “level playing field” and increase foreign investment.

The colorful event featured a variety of exhibitions showcasing European cuisine, culture, and innovation, and was attended by ambassadors, diplomats, government officials, businessmen, and dignitaries from various countries.
