Business In Bangladesh Editor Engr. Mohammad Shajibul-Al-Rajib, participated in the Argentine National Day Reception organized by the Embassy of Argentina in Dhaka at the invitation of the Argentine Embassy.

Attending the reception, he expressed his sincere gratitude to the Embassy of Embassy of Argentina in Dhaka and to the Ambassador of Argentina, Marcelo Cesa. He stated that such initiatives play an important role in strengthening bilateral relations, diplomatic goodwill, and cultural exchange between the two countries.

The Chief Guest of the event was the Minister for Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Abdul Awal Mintoo. In his remarks, he said that Bangladesh deeply values its historic friendship and solidarity with Argentina. He noted that Argentina was among the early Latin American countries to recognize independent Bangladesh, recalling the recognition granted on 17 May 1972 with pride. He also highlighted that this year marks the 54th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Ambassador Marcelo Cesa thanked the Chief Guest and all distinguished attendees in his speech. He reaffirmed Argentina’s commitment to further deepening and diversifying bilateral relations with Bangladesh, particularly in economic and trade cooperation.
The Ambassador also noted that bilateral trade between the two countries has reached approximately USD 1.5 billion. Argentina primarily exports soybean oil, flour, wheat, maize, and cotton to Bangladesh, along with high-value products such as vaccines and medical equipment.
The event was attended by diplomats from various countries, senior government officials of Bangladesh, business leaders, academics, cultural figures, and representatives of the media. The reception was widely seen as a significant occasion reflecting the strong friendship, mutual respect, and growing cooperation between Bangladesh and Argentina.
