BGMEA delegation pays courtesy call on CMP Commissioner in Chittagong

A delegation led by BGMEA First Vice President Salim Rahman paid a courtesy call on Chittagong Metropolitan Police (CMP) Commissioner Hasib Aziz, BPM (Bar) on Tuesday (September 2, 2025).

The meeting discussed important issues including labor unrest, terrorism, extortion, clashes over illegal trade, prevention of factory vandalism and requisition of vehicles of export-oriented garment industry.

Police Commissioner Hasib Aziz assured CMP’s utmost cooperation in maintaining peace and order in the export-oriented ready-made garment industry. He promised to work in coordination with BGMEA to ensure security in the industrial area and announced that cars and microbuses of the export-oriented garment industry will be exempted from requisition from now on.

The BGMEA delegation also included Vice President Mohammad Rafiq Chowdhury, Directors Sakif Ahmed Salam and Enamul Aziz Chowdhury.
