BGBA meeting adopts practical plans to improve member services and export strategies

A fruitful and directional committee meeting of the Bangladesh Garments Buying House Association (BGBA) was held recently. The meeting was presided over by Mohammad Zakir Hossain, Director-in-Charge of the Standing Committee. The meeting discussed in detail several important issues including financial support, regulatory processes, supply chain and international market strategies.

Mohammad Zakir Hossain emphasized on simplifying banking and export documentation so that the needs of the growing buying house sector can be met more efficiently. Discussions also focused on simplifying the membership process, following trade organization rules and guidelines, removing existing obstacles in operations and increasing support for supply chain coordination.

He also spoke about strategies to increase engagement with important export markets including Asia and improving relations with suppliers in line with the rapidly changing global trade environment.

The meeting set several action plans, including:

Strengthening coordination with the National Board of Revenue (NBR), Bangladesh Bank and Export Promotion Bureau (EPB).

Ensuring improved and timely logistical support for members.

Ensuring digital integration and transparency of services.

Exploring strategies to achieve future sustainability through market diversification.

This strategic meeting reflects the progress made by BGBA members through innovation, collaboration and progressive policy measures to empower them and achieve sustainable growth.
