Desk Report:
The International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital is seeing a surge in visitors, drawn by the opportunity to explore modern maritime technologies and a wide array of vehicles—all under one roof. The venue is currently hosting the ‘8th BIMEX-2026,’ an international exhibition for the maritime and offshore industries, alongside the ‘Super Sale Car Bazaar,’ a recurring event that brings together buyers and sellers.
BIMEX-2026 features a diverse range of domestic and international organizations showcasing the latest equipment and innovations—from shipbuilding and port operations to marine engineering, ship recycling, and offshore technology. Representatives from these companies are presenting their products, technologies, and services to attendees.
The exhibition, organized by SAVOR International Limited, was inaugurated on Thursday by the Minister of Shipping, Sheikh Rabiul Alam, at the Navaratri Hall of the ICCB.
According to the organizers, harnessing the vast potential of Bangladesh’s marine resources requires the adoption of modern technology, increased investment, and strengthened international cooperation. With this objective, the exhibition has brought together over 200 organizations from seven countries, including Bangladesh and the Netherlands. It will remain open to the public tomorrow, Saturday, from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
Meanwhile, another edition of the ‘Super Sale Car Bazaar’ is taking place at the ICCB this Friday. Starting at 10:00 AM, the event offers a platform for buying and selling new, used, and reconditioned cars, as well as motorcycles and various utility vehicles. The market will remain open until 8:00 PM.
Launched on September 4, this event has been held every Friday for the past five weeks. The organizers note that as interest among buyers and sellers grows, participation in the car bazaar continues to rise.
Here, buyers can view vehicles from various brands and models in a single location, allowing them to easily compare features and prices. This reduces the need to visit multiple locations when looking to buy a car. At the same time, sellers get the opportunity to connect directly with potential buyers.
The ‘Super Sale Car Bazar’ is being organized by Wizard Showbiz, with ICCB serving as the venue partner for the event.
