Speaking as the chief guest at the event, Sheikh Bashir Uddin, Advisor to the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Textiles and Jute, said, “Industries must increase the use of renewable energy, especially solar energy, to reduce production costs.” Advising the enterprises to procure solar panels at the lowest price, he urged them to invest in solar power as an alternative to using gas and rural electricity. Noting that preferential market access may no longer be available after the transition from LDC, he said, “To survive in the competition, businesses will have to improve their efficiency and somehow absorb their various fixed costs.”

FBCCI Administrator Md. Hafizur Rahman said, “Such machinery fairs will play an important role in finding sustainable technologies to meet the future challenges of the industry.”

Bangladesh Textile Mills Association (BTMA) President Mr. Shawkat Aziz Russell said, “About $22 billion has already been invested in the textile sector, through which we have now created the capacity to supply 100% knit garments for the country’s export-oriented ready-made garment industry.”
He said, “If the government can give a long-term forecast on gas prices and bank interest rates for the next 10 years, then we can invest more. We investors do not want to be in any uncertainty about this.”
