Bangladesh-Nepal talks held to increase cooperation in tourism and aviation sectors

Nepalese Ambassador to Bangladesh Ghanshyam Bhandari called on Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Ms. Afroza Khanam (Rita) at her office in the ministry on Sunday (March 29, 2026). State Minister M. Rashiduzzaman Millat was present at the time.

During the meeting, emphasis was placed on further strengthening the existing bilateral relations between Bangladesh and Nepal. In addition, Nepal sought Bangladesh’s cooperation in the development of the country’s aviation and tourism sectors. The ambassador especially emphasized the need to upgrade Syedpur Airport to an international airport.

In addition, detailed discussions were held on setting the ticket prices of flights on the Dhaka-Kathmandu route at a reasonable level. At this time, the Minister and the State Minister assured of continuing maximum cooperation with Nepal.
