Bangladesh-Japan Forum on Food and Agribusiness Held in Dhaka

Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh, SAIDA Shinichi, attended the “Bangladesh-Japan Forum on Food and Agribusiness” today on Wednesday (November 19, 2025). The forum was co-organized by the Ministry of Agriculture of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries (MAFF) of Japan, and the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO), Dhaka Office.

The forum is part of ongoing cooperation between the Ministries of Agriculture of Bangladesh and Japan, aiming to strengthen bilateral collaboration in the food and agriculture sector.

During his remarks, Ambassador SAIDA emphasized that food and agriculture is a priority sector under the Japan-Bangladesh Strategic Partnership. He expressed his hope that the forum would foster closer ties between the public and private sectors, enhance bilateral cooperation, and encourage new Japanese investments in Bangladesh, contributing to the country’s industrial diversification beyond the traditional garment sector.
