A special cleanliness drive in Rangamati city organized by Astha Youth Group and in collaboration with Rangamati Municipality and non-governmental development partner organization Ashika Development Associates was inaugurated by District Administrator Mohammad Habib Ullah Maruf.
On Sunday (October 19, 2025) morning, a cleanliness drive was conducted from the city’s municipality premises to the gymnasium premises. Municipal Administrator Mohammad Mubarak Hossain was present at the time.
The District Administrator said that the initiative taken by the private NGO Ashika today is truly commendable. Other NGOs need to come forward in these development and cleanliness works. Along with road cleaning, the drains of the municipality should also be kept clean. This city belongs to everyone, so I urge everyone to come forward for this work.
Municipal Administrator Mohammad Mobarak Hossain said that the municipality is continuously continuing its cleaning work.
Executive Director of the organization, Biplob Chakma, said that under the cleanliness drive of the non-governmental development Ashika Development Associates, more than a hundred volunteers will remove garbage and garbage from both sides of the road, and promotional miking, banners, posters and play cards will be displayed in the Rangamati tourist area to increase the awareness and participation of citizens, sustainable waste management, and social harmony and partnership.
Present at the cleanliness drive were Assistant Land Commissioner Sadar Upazila (Land) Office and Municipality (CO) Aslam Sarwar, General Secretary of Rangamati Reporters Unity and Editor of Pahar Khabor Newspaper M Kamal Uddin, Ashika Development Associates Admin Manager Jhumalia Chakma.
