The Embassy of the Argentine Republic in Bangladesh hosted a vibrant diplomatic reception on Wednesday (9 July, 2025) evening at Le Méridien Hotel in Dhaka to celebrate the National Day of Argentina.
The event was graced by the presence of the Hon’ble Adviser for the Ministry of Housing and Public Works, Mr. Adilur Rahman Khan, as the Chief Guest, whose attendance added dignity and significance to the celebration.
In his remarks, the Chief Guest said, “It is a great honor for me to be present today at this National Day reception hosted by the Argentine Embassy. On behalf of the Government and the people of Bangladesh, I extend our heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to the government and people of Argentina.”
He added, “Argentina was one of the very first South American countries to recognize Bangladesh, doing so on 25 May 1972. That early gesture of friendship remains a proud and cherished memory for us.”
He also mentioned, “Our Hon’ble Chief Adviser, Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, shares a deep personal respect for Argentina, particularly in appreciation of their unwavering support for Bangladesh.”
The Ambassador of Argentina to Bangladesh, H.E. Marcelo Cesa, expressed his sincere gratitude to the Chief Guest and all distinguished attendees. In his speech, he emphasized Argentina’s desire to deepen and diversify its diplomatic, cultural, and economic ties with Bangladesh.
The reception was attended by ambassadors and diplomats from various countries, senior officials of the Government of Bangladesh, business leaders, academics, cultural figures, and media representatives. The event served as a meaningful occasion to celebrate the spirit of friendship and mutual respect between the two nations.
