The play ‘Pied Piper of Hamelin’, based on the world-famous German folk tale, is being staged by Alliance Française de Dhaka’s Friday Theatre School.
Two performances of the play will be held at the Alliance Française auditorium in Dhanmondi on Saturday (September 13, 2025)—the first at 4:30 pm and the second at 7 pm. The entry fee per person is Tk 100. Passes can be collected from Alliance Française de Dhaka, Dhanmondi.
Written as a play by William Glennon, this play will be performed by the Friday Theatre School workshop students and directed by the workshop coordinator, director Ashish Khandaker.
Set in the context of the medieval town of Hamelin, this story is a unique allegory about justice, promises, and the consequences of broken trust. The play will bring to life before the audience the horrific consequences of human greed and injustice, even if the rats are freed from their cruelty by the tune of the magic flute.
