Religious Advisor Dr. A. F. M. Khalid Hossain said that the air ticket syndicate has been broken for Umrah. The opportunity to sell at an excessive price by booking group tickets through syndicates has been closed.
He said this in his speech as the chief guest at the inauguration of the District Model Mosque and Islamic Cultural Center in Cox’s Bazar on Friday (March 21, 2025) afternoon.
The Religious Advisor said, “Now tickets will have to be booked using the passport number of the concerned passenger. If this ticket is not issued within three days, the booking will be automatically canceled. It will not happen again if the group tickets are booked and the price is increased by double or triple. A policy has also been made for this.”
Dr. Khalid said that an atmosphere of harmony has prevailed in Cox’s Bazar since the distant past. There is no communal anarchy or misunderstanding here. He expressed hope that this message of brotherhood will spread to Cox’s Bazar through this mosque.
The organizers of the event said that 1,100 men will be able to offer prayers at the same time in this model mosque. There are separate ablution and prayer facilities for women and the physically or visually impaired.
