Adviser Dr. Asif Nazrul holds bilateral meeting with three Bahraini ministers

Adviser to the Ministry of Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment of the Government of Bangladesh Dr. Asif Nazrul held separate bilateral meetings with three ministers of the country in the capital of Bahrain, Manama, on Monday (October 7, 2025).

The meetings were held with Bahraini Minister of Interior Sheikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Labor and Law Yousuf bin Abdul Hussain Khalaf, and Minister of Justice and Religious Affairs Nawaf bin Muhammad Al Mawadda.

In the meeting, Dr. Asif Nazrul emphasized the importance of strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation between the two countries. He called for the reopening of Bahrain’s labor market and visas, which have been closed for a long time. He presented proposals on recruiting skilled manpower from Bangladesh in various sectors, including doctors, nurses, teachers, caregivers, IT experts, medical technicians.

He also requested for the early introduction of family visas for Bangladeshi expatriates and highlighted the huge potential for expanding trade, commerce and investment between the two countries.

Bahraini ministers thanked Dr. Asif Nazrul for his visit and said that the proposed issues would be considered seriously. They also assured that they would discuss with the concerned departments and try to find a quick solution.

The meetings were also attended by the undersecretaries of the relevant ministries of Bahrain and the Ambassador of the Bangladesh Embassy in Bahrain, Md. Rais Hasan Sarwar, ndc.
