Home Ministry issues seven directives to strengthen security inside the Secretariat

The Home Ministry has issued seven directives to strengthen security inside the Bangladesh Secretariat on Tuesday (August 12, 2025).

The directives signed by Md. Jasim Uddin, Joint Secretary of the Secretariat Security Branch of the Public Security Division of the Home Ministry, state – “The security of every building inside the Bangladesh Secretariat, as the heart of the country’s administration, is very important. Therefore, these directives/decisions have been taken to ensure round-the-clock order and security of every building/premises located inside the Secretariat.”

The directives are as follows:

(a) Any kind of procession, rally or mass gathering is prohibited inside the Bangladesh Secretariat;

(b) No unauthorized meeting/gathering or meeting/conference/meeting of any professional organization/association can be held in the conference rooms of various ministries/departments located inside the Secretariat;

(c) If you need to stay inside the Secretariat after 6:00 PM for urgent official needs, you must inform the Ministry of Home Affairs;

(d) If you need to stay inside the Secretariat for official needs on weekends or any other holidays, you must obtain prior permission from the Ministry of Home Affairs;

(e) The Secretariat entry pass of the officers and employees working inside the Secretariat must be kept visible;

(f) No leaflets can be distributed, banners or festoons can be hung or placed in any building or premises inside the Secretariat; and

(g) The security forces on duty will ensure security checks of vehicles/persons entering the Secretariat.
