Closing Ceremony of Exercise Tiger Lighting (TL)-2025 Held

On Wednesday (30 July 2025), the closing ceremony of Exercise Tiger Lightning (TL)-2025, jointly conducted by the Bangladesh Army and the United States Army Pacific Command (USARPAC), was held at Jalalabad Cantonment, Sylhet. The event was graced by the presence of GOC, 17 Infantry Division and Area Commander, Sylhet Area and ambassador Tracey Ann Jacobson, Charge d’Affaires of the United States Embassy in Dhaka, as the guests. This week-long exercise, which commenced on 24 July 2025, featured joint participation from the Bangladesh Army’s Para-Commando Brigade and the United States’ Nevada National Guard.

Bangladesh and the United States share longstanding cooperation on regional and global security, counterterrorism, disaster management, and humanitarian assistance. Bangladesh remains committed to combating natural disasters and global threats in close coordination with the United States and other international partners. In this context, Exercise Tiger Lightning-2025 was successfully conducted with the aim of enhancing mutual cooperation, developing strategic joint operational capabilities, and strengthening preparedness. A total of 66 members from the Nevada National Guard and 100 personnel from the Bangladesh Army’s Para-Commando Brigade participated in the exercise. Throughout various phases of the exercise, participants engaged in diverse strategic and practical activities focused on coordination, responsiveness, and strengthening mutual collaboration. During the closing ceremony, each participant was awarded a certificate in recognition of the successful completion of the exercise. Additionally, commemorative insignias were presented to all participants as tokens of participation.

At this ceremony, all commanders of Sylhet region, representatives from the Armed Forces Division, Army Headquarters, and various high-ranking military officials of Sylhet region were present, along with senior military officials from the United States Army. This exercise will play a significant role in enhancing the professional skills of the participating army personnel and will also contribute effectively to strengthening the existing relationship between the Bangladesh Army and the United States Army.
