July Uprising has started the indomitable journey to build a non-discriminatory and just state: Tourism and Commerce Adviser Sheikh Bashiruddin

Civil Aviation and Tourism and Commerce Adviser Sheikh Bashiruddin said, the July Uprising is a milestone in the movement struggle of Bangladesh. The July Uprising has started the indomitable journey to build a non-discriminatory and just state.

He said this while speaking as the chief guest at the July Resurgence-2025 program organized by the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism on the occasion of the July Uprising at the Oasis premises of the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel this Saturday (26 July 2025) afternoon. At the beginning of the program, a minute of silence was observed in memory of the martyrs of the July Uprising.

Sheikh Bashiruddin said, the July Movement has started a new chapter in the history of our state and administration. This chapter is not just about protest or conflict – it is a bold call for optimism and a desire for change and the establishment of people’s rights. It has begun an indomitable journey to build a new, non-discriminatory and just state in Bangladesh. Students led the way in this movement and the general public joined in this movement that day.

He also said, we have increased direct contact with the people, strived to bring about effective change, and most importantly, we have learned to trust the people. People are not just numbers, people are the most important part of the decision-making process. This achievement belongs to all of us. If we can establish service as a responsibility, then we will understand that we have been able to grasp the main lesson of the July Mass Movement. Let us build a state and administration where the voice of the citizen is not ignored, where decisions are based on information and in the public interest, and where the administration becomes the greatest ally of the people.
