Kaptai Lake should be developed for fish farming: Foreign Adviser

On Friday (July 18) afternoon, Foreign Ministry Advisor Md. Touhid Hossain and Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Ministry Advisor Supradeep Chakma enjoyed the beauty of Kaptai Lake and exchanged views on a speedboat ride from Bargi Lake Valley in Rangamati to Stadium Ghat in Rangamati city via Subalong Jharna, Subalong Bazar.

At this time, Rangamati Hill Tracts District Council Chairman Agriculturist Kajal Talukder, Joint Secretary of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Ministry Konkan Chakma, Rangamati Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Habib Ullah, Superintendent of Police Dr. SM Farhad Hossain were present.

Foreign Ministry Advisor Md. Touhid Hossain said, Kaptai Lake can play an important role in the socio-economic development of the people of the hilly region. Kaptai Lake should be developed to be suitable for fish farming, so that the people living on the banks are not deprived of its benefits.”

At the same time, Chittagong Hill Tracts Advisor Supradeep Chakma said, we should utilize the immense potential of Kaptai Lake. This lake will help change the fate of the people of Chittagong Hill Tracts.

At the same time, Supradeep Chakma also said that the country is moving forward with the determination to build a self-respecting Bangladesh by uniting the hilly and Bengali people in the bond of harmony. The current government has opened all doors for development in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. The hilly people are lagging behind in the development of the agricultural sector, which needs to be changed. We do not want to be left behind anymore, we want to join the mainstream of the country.
