Ms. MIYAZAKI Katsura, Executive Senior Vice President of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), paid a courtesy call on Advocate Syeda Rizwana Hasan, Honorable Advisor to the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEFCC) and the Ministry of Water Resources (MoWR), on Thursday (3 July, 2025).

During the meeting, Ms. MIYAZAKI praised Bangladesh’s ongoing efforts to tackle poverty, unemployment, and climate change, noting that these initiatives align closely with JICA’s sustainability policy. She reaffirmed JICA’s strong commitment to supporting Bangladesh’s journey toward a sustainable and climate-resilient future.

Advisor Rizwana expressed her sincere gratitude for JICA’s continued support, especially in technology-based projects such as forest monitoring, air quality control, and the development of the ship recycling industry. She emphasized that Japan remains one of Bangladesh’s most valued bilateral partners.

Both sides also exchanged views on potential future areas of cooperation, including nature conservation, environmental management, and the involvement of the private sector in sustainability initiatives.
