With over 26 years of unwavering dedication in Bangladesh’s ready-made garments (RMG) industry, Tamanna Farroque Thema stands tall as a successful female entrepreneur and a dynamic force in the country’s industrial landscape. Her journey is one of innovation, resilience, and visionary leadership.
Ms. Thema is the Managing Director of BG Group, where she has showcased exceptional expertise in brand management, product innovation, service delivery, and corporate communication. Over the years, she has led numerous successful ventures, particularly in the fields of building construction, design, and interior solutions, earning wide recognition both at home and abroad.

She is also the CEO of TZ Interior Studio, a thriving enterprise dedicated to fulfilling the growing demands of both residential and commercial clients with innovative interior design solutions.
On a personal note, she is the proud daughter of Mr. Zainul Abdin Farroque, a prominent politician and a decorated freedom fighter of Bangladesh—adding a legacy of patriotism and leadership to her name.
Tamanna Farroque Thema is currently an active member of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and is contesting in the upcoming BGMEA elections as a candidate from the Sammilito Parishad panel (Ballot No. 54).

Her election message is rooted in a powerful vision:
“Power and People – these are the two core forces that will shape the future of our industry.”
She places strong emphasis on empowering SME entrepreneurs, announcing a plan to establish a Support Unit aimed at helping small and medium-sized factories operate in a more stable and sustainable manner. This unit will provide essential financial guidance, policy advisory, regular updates, and strategies to navigate the competitive market landscape.

One of Ms. Thema’s most impactful proposals is the introduction of a Unified Social Compliance Code—a solution that promises to save both time and cost for garment factories. Instead of undergoing repeated audits from multiple sources, this unified code would streamline the process under a single, standard system.
This initiative is expected to reduce operational hassles and significantly boost international credibility, particularly for export-oriented factories.
As she emphasizes, “Sammilito Parishad believes that sustainable development requires solutions that are simple, effective, and industry-friendly.”
Tamanna Farroque Thema exemplifies what it means to be a visionary female leader in one of Bangladesh’s most vital economic sectors. Her passion for inclusive development, practical reform, and SME empowerment reflects a deep commitment to a better future for the RMG industry.
With her at the forefront, backed by years of experience and a bold reform agenda, Ballot No. 54 represents more than a vote—it’s a step toward transformation.
