Bangladesh Nationalist Party-BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia is returning home from London after a long treatment. She will return to Dhaka in a special air ambulance provided by the Emir of Qatar, said BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
This special flight will depart from London on Monday, May 5, and the next day, Tuesday, May 6, the plane carrying Begum Khaleda Zia will land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. She will be accompanied by two daughters-in-law—Zubaida Rahman and Sharmin Iqbal (Koko’s wife).
She made this announcement at a briefing organized at the party Chairperson’s political office in Gulshan on Saturday (May 3, 2025) evening. Mirza Fakhrul said, “The leader will return—it is not just a political event for us, it is an emotion, a love. Every patriotic person in the country is encouraged and energized by the news of her return today.”
The party has informed that BNP leaders and activists are ready for the leader’s arrival. The party message to the leaders and activists said, “They will welcome their leader by standing on both sides of the road with utmost discipline and without creating any traffic jams. As we have said, we will welcome her with the national flag in one hand and the party flag in the other—this is our decision.”
