In the first hour of the first Baishakh, the traditional morning program organized by Chhayanaut began at Dhaka’s Ramna Batamul. Bengalis welcomed the new year with the tune of the traditional Bengali song ‘Eso He Boishakh’.
This year, the 58th episode of Chhayanaut’s program has given special importance to the call for human liberation symbolized by light. The entire program began at 6:15 am with a musical performance in Bhairav Raga. The main idea of the program was – ‘Amar Mukti Aloy Aloy’, which has been interpreted as a victory song of light against darkness.
This two-hour cultural program featured 9 ensemble songs, 12 solo performances and three recitations. Each performance expressed the message of love for nature, human consciousness and self-awakening.
At the end of the program, prominent cultural activist Dr. Sarwar Ali addressed the audience. He urged people to see the New Year not only as a festival, but also as an exercise in values.
This New Year’s Eve program of Chhayanaut was broadcast live on various digital media including Bangladesh Television, Facebook and YouTube.
