Improving law and order is govt’s top challenge: Home Affairs Advisor

Now the main challenge is to improve the law and order situation, said Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury. Along with that, he is also in charge of agricultural advisor.

On Monday (August 19) he met with the United Nations Resident Coordinator Gwen Lewis at his office in the Secretariat. Regarding the meeting, the Home Affairs Advisor said, in this situation, what kind of help can they give us. We have basically talked about that. It was also discussed that we want cooperation in any sector.

They also discussed the Rohingya problem, he said, they are cooperating with the Rohingyas, we have asked for more cooperation. One and a half million Rohingya, their children are growing every day, expenses are increasing. How long can we afford this cost!

The adviser also said, ‘They will send the fact finding mission that is supposed to come from the United Nations. In that case, what kind of cooperation they will give us, what kind of cooperation we want – these have been discussed.

He also said, I am also in charge of the Ministry of Agriculture, there my goal is how to increase production and feed people more.
