A special gathering was organized by the Ramakrishna Mission in Dhaka to mark the 190th birth anniversary of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and the 125th anniversary of Swami Vivekananda’s visit to Dhaka. Pranay Verma, High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh, was present as the chief guest at the event.

In his speech, the High Commissioner praised the important role of the lives and teachings of Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and Swami Vivekananda in building spiritual and cultural ties between India and Bangladesh.
Swami Purnatamananda, Secretary of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission in Dhaka, Acting Director of Bangla Academy Dr. Tapan Bagchi and Professor of the Department of Persian Language and Literature, University of Dhaka, Dr. Mohammad Bahauddin also spoke at the event.
