It is possible to prevent violence against women by implementing the teachings and ideals of the Quran: Religious Advisor

Religious Advisor Dr. AFM Khalid Hossain said that it is possible to prevent violence against women by implementing the teachings and ideals of the Holy Quran.

He said this in his speech as the chief guest at the Hifzul Quran Competition 2024-25 “Al Quraner Alokjatra Grand Finale” organized by Greater Mymensingh Youth Association, Dhaka at the Officers Club in Dhaka on Saturday (March 8, 2025).

Stating that a certain group of people behave violently towards women, this should be avoided, the Religious Advisor said that Surah Al Mujadala of the Holy Quran was revealed through the cry of a woman.

Stating that men and women originated from the same place, the Advisor said that women have been honored in the Holy Quran. It has also been mentioned in the Hadith Sharif that the child’s paradise is under the feet of the mother. At this time, he called for spreading the ideals of the Quran throughout the society.

He also said that initiatives should be taken to increase the practice of the Holy Quran. If we focus on the practice, understanding and rulings of the Quran, it is possible to form a non-discriminatory state structure. Addressing the youth, the advisor said, “Our future days will be beautiful in a non-discriminatory state.”

The event was presided over by Barrister Mutasim Billah Farooqui, President of the Greater Mymensingh Youth Association. Justice Md. Jahangir Hossain of the High Court Division, President of the Greater Mymensingh Youth Association, Bir Muktijoddha Abdus Salam, President of the Jamalpur District Association, Dhaka, M Rashiduzzaman Millat, spoke as special guests. The event was hosted by Mohammad Shafil Mahmud Shamim, Secretary General of the Greater Mymensingh Youth Association.

At the event, the Religious Advisor distributed crests and certificates among the winners of the grand finale of the Hifzul Quran competition.

The Hifzul Quran competition was held in 4 age-based groups. Eminent scholars of the country served as judges in the Quran competition.

Abdullah Sayeed Muntaha of Netrokona district won first place in the competition, Didarul Islam of Netrokona won second place, and Abdullah Mohammad Owaisi of Tangail won third place.
